Restylane, Juvaderm, Botox and Artefill are becoming more and more popular. Dysport a new muscle relaxing injectable is proving to be reliable, safe and faster acting than Botox. These agents have proven to be the mainstay of treatment for forehead, central brow "H"s and crow's feet outer eyelid wrinkles.
Typically lasting 3-4 months these formulations were originally designed to treat eyelid muscle spasm. F.D.A approval has been obtained for cosmetic treatments of the upper face. With our acquired experience we have extended treatment to raising the outer brows, rabbit lines on the side of the nose, upper lip lines, raising the corners of the mouth, smoothing the chin and softening the neck turkey gobbler. Results around the mouth last less.
Minor side effects lasting 1-2 days occur in 1-2% of patients. Drooping of the brows and lid occasionally occur resolving in a few weeks. Occasional bruising with treatment of the eyelids can be covered with leg and body cover. Most patient's appearance is socially acceptable the same night, with results beginning within 1-2 days. Facial Fillers
With improved technology Hyaluronic Acid fillers (Juvaderm, Restylane/Perlane) have become longer lasting with rare side effects. Smile lines from the mouth to the nose, creases below the corner of the mouth and cheeks, troughs below the eyelids as well as the lips and (smoker's) upper lip lines can be filled with reliable, smooth , immediate results in some cases lasting upwards of 6 months.
Rare bruising and bumps are easily managed.
Artefil a long lasting injectable gel filler has demonstrated excellent results in filling the smile lines, lips, lower eyelid depressions and raising the eyebrows. Two treatments will typically give results lasting for years.
Sculptra has received F.D.A. clearance for structural filling of the cheeks, temples and brows. Two to three injection sessions can also diminish smile lines and improve the quality of the overlying skin for over two years. More time consuming but the results are only matched by fat injections.

Retinoic Acid a Vitamin A derivative has been clinically proven for years to improve facial wrinkles when applied once nightly. In addition to building and restructuring collagen its antimicrobial properties are effective for acne treatment. Available as .025% cream for eyelids and .05% for the face. $45-
Lightening Cream
for brown skin pigmentation boosts the lightening effects of Hydroquinone with Kojic Acid also an antimicrobial effective in acne treatments. This light white cream should be applied twice daily. Effective for brown spots on the face, hands and legs. I always have olive/brown skin tone patients use it after peels/laser treatments and surgery. $40.-
