KETAMINE ADMINISTRATION
We offer comprehensive Ketamine for treatment of mood disturbances, resistant depression and pain in a private safe setting. Our posh, AAAHC certified facility ensures a comfortable experience in a central location. Research clearly indicates that Ketamine provides rapid relief from depressive symptoms and a significant reduction in suicidal thoughts in a majority of patients: “A Consensur Statement on the Use of Ketamine in the Treatment of Mood Disorders”
Ketamine is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines because of its safety and efficacy for anesthesia. Ketamine has been proven as a safe and effective treatment for depression, and randomized controlled trials have shown rapid improvement in mood as well as reduction in suicidality. Ketamine therapy may result in longer periods of remission than other medications available to date. Radnomized doule blind research articles confirm this (Am J Psychiatry 173:8, August 2016) as well as others. Adults age 18 and over who suffer from moderate-severe depression and have not had success with traditional treatments for depression are eligible for ketamine treatment. Our comprehensive evaluation will include a medical history and basic lab results to ensure Ketamine is safe for you. We have been administering Ketamine for over 20 years without any significant complications. Ketamine side effects include raising blood pressure and heart rate; these will be monitored closely by Dr. Cenedese and our Certified Medical Assistant. Longer term risks include urinary symptoms, cognitive impairment (with prolonged use), and substance use disorders. Ketamine therapy has been shown to be effective with substance abuse and other obsessive compulsive disorders as well. Our Board Certified Physician will evaluate your condition to determine if Ketamine therapy is the best choice for you and which form will benefit you most. Ketamine may be administered via infusion, intra-muscular injection, nasal spray or oral lozenge. Two to three treatments a week for up to four weeks have been shown to be most effective in a majority of patients.
